I am committed to improving digital accessibility on matthewboden.github.io. The goal is a portfolio experience that works for people with a wide range of abilities and assistive technologies.
Conformance goal
I aim to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines help make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Measures taken
- Semantic HTML structure and heading hierarchy where practical
- Skip-to-content links on legal pages
- Descriptive labels and alt text for meaningful images where provided
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and interactive controls
- Respect for reduced-motion preferences in parts of the experience
- Visible focus states on interactive elements where styled
Known limitations
Some portfolio features are experimental or visually intensive (for example animated backgrounds, arcade demos, or 3D effects). These areas may present challenges for certain assistive technologies or motion sensitivity. Core content — experience, projects, contact, and resume download — is intended to remain reachable without those extras.
